- I see a adjustment screw on one of the cables (drivers side) and assume somewhere there is one for the other (passanger side). What is the proper way to get these adjustments where they should be? Trial and error? seems a bit scarey lol. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
- Rotate the range select lever clockwise until it reaches the mechanical stop position. Push in the white lock button in order to secure the core adjuster body inside the range select lever cable end. Slide the black retainer clip rearward over the cable end until it covers the white lock button. Lock the clip over the cable end.

Motor will go into forward and netural but has little or no reverse.there are two cables on the shift control but only one moves . The other one dosen.t move in either direction. When the motor is in netural the shift control to near the reverse position.

Oct 31, 2016 · Once you can move the shifter, put it into neutral and attempt to start the car. If it starts, this is a very strong indication you need a shift transmission range switch, also known as the neutral safety switch. If you can move the shifter freely once you manually unlock it, this confirms if the shift cable has any problems.
If you check the cable on both ends of the line on the engine and at the stick shift and the cable is not broken, you can fix them with an adjustment. If your cable is not broken and you are having issues shifting into the correct gear, you will want to adjust your cables.
Nov 02, 2009 · On a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, automatic transmission, 2WD, where the shift cable attaches to the shift lever (from transmission) is the ballstud on the shift lever replaceable? Mine is missing, therefore the cable can slide off if in a bind leaving me stranded in a gear. Seems like a pin would work better.
